Women travel solo more than men. A survey done by Booking.com in 2014 found that 65 percent of American women were taking vacations without their partner, a number that for sure is higher today. One report from 2020 claims that 85 percent of overseas solo travelers are women. Solo Travel Society asked their female members on Facebook why they travel solo, and 46 percent said that freedom, independence, and the chance to do what they want when they want was the main driver.
